Meet Travis January, Owner of
First Pass Fabrication & Custom Welding

I’m Travis January, a Texas-based welder and construction professional with over 20 years of hands-on experience in welding, fabrication, residential construction, and commercial projects. I hold current AWS welding certification through the American Welding Society, along with commercial certifications that help me deliver safe, dependable, high-quality work on every job.

I started welding when I was 18 in the aluminum boat industry, and since then I’ve worked across a wide range of trades and industries. My experience includes solar panel construction, oil and gas pipeline work, custom mobile asphalt blenders, and commercial sign fabrication for companies like H-E-B, Best Buy, Walmart, and Starbucks.

I’ve also spent years doing residential remodels, finish work, and custom construction for both new and existing homes. Whether I’m building a fence, installing handrails, welding custom fabrication, or working on decks, patios, pergolas, and carports, I bring real field experience, attention to detail, and pride in my craftsmanship to every project.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple: build it right, make it last, and give every customer work they can count on.

  • First Pass Fabrication completed a backyard remodel with a custom 17' x 20' deck, complete with railings and a finishing stain. The project created a durable outdoor hangout space designed for relaxing, entertaining, and making better use of the backyard.

    Back Yard Upgrades - Jan. 2026

  • First Pass Fabrication completed a custom residential metal fabrication project for a dual-door swinging entry gate. When standard gate options could not fit the design, we created a made-to-fit solution with custom metal work, welding, and installation. The finished gate added strength, function, and a clean look to the entry space — all completed with a quick turnaround.

  • First Pass Fabrication built a custom ranch hauling trailer designed to carry specific ranch equipment while staying flexible for everyday use. With modular fittings for quick re-rigging, the trailer can be adjusted for different tools, materials, and odd jobs around the ranch. This custom fabrication project was built for strength, function, and real-world durability.
